Why wedding suppliers should work together

Wedding Suppliers Work Together
04 Apr, 2022

You have met the soon to be Mr and Mrs, they are happy with your credentials, and you are now busy creating a day they won’t forget. But remember that couples don’t consider the quality of individual parts of their wedding but the wedding as a whole. How every part slots seamlessly into the next and how the transitions were smooth, free flowing and drama free.

It is important to remember that other wedding suppliers will impact the way you deliver your service and vice versa. So, getting to know other wedding suppliers, building strong supplier connections and working in partnership is essential to the success of the wedding.

How can you ensure that wedding suppliers work together?

We have put together a few ways in which you can ensure that as wedding suppliers you are putting the clients first, appreciate that each of the supplier’s role is as important as the next and ultimately work together to create an amazing wedding.

1. Communicate

If you learn of any information that could harm another supplier’s ability to carry out their tasks to the highest standards, you must inform them.

– If nothing else, but to avoid a knock-on effect. For example, if you are the wedding venue supplier and there has been an in-house change that affects the entertainment rules, you should inform the entertainment suppliers directly. So together, you can work to come up with alternative solutions should they need to.

2. Introductions

It is crucial that you introduce yourself to other wedding suppliers. If you are the wedding band, say hi to the photographer and ask if there is anything you can do to aid the capture of some great wedding pictures – you might want to call all the bridal party to the dancefloor, ask them to sing loud or perform their favourite dance move. You could also let the photographer know where you will be setting up so as they do not get in your way.

3. Sharing Plans

If you’re a wedding supplier who spends most of their time monopolising the bridal party’s time – such as photographers. Then you might want to create a plan of action or a brief breakdown of your movements for the day to hand out to other wedding suppliers. Think about who and how would benefit from knowing this information are you planning on capturing the happy couple in front of the big oak tree just as the caterer plans to send out the canapes? Are the happy couple being called for their first dance but are outside posing for pictures? It will benefit all wedding suppliers involved on the day to know the intentions of one another so as they can collaborate and ensure a smooth-running event.

4. Keep in touch

Wedding suppliers should not only work together but should keep in touch. Make the most of your newfound contacts don’t treat it as competition but rather a possible source of income for future events. Remember that as with any business the initial contact to wedding suppliers is made through recommendations and testimonials. If a supplier network is strong, you should receive referrals through your new contacts. Additionally, you get access to invaluable wedding supplier, insider information.
