| Bijay Magar | Govinda ji, A cat has right to roam around under the Common Law Duty of Care. However an owner has general duty to take reasonable care to ensure his cat do not cause damage or injury to property or people. A cat is considered some one's property. Under Criminal Damage Act an offence may be committed if a person kills or injures a cat unlawfully. If cruelty to a cat is suspected RSPCA can take action against the culprit. So if a cat litters your garden I would identify its owner and talk to him/her or just scare the cat away without harming. Hope this helps. | Narendra | Govinda ju, Your own behaviour or etiquette when it is related to neighbour relationship is fundamentally very important. Majority of us unfortunately are not so lucky!! The horrors of hellish neighbour is a matter of life and death. We see few examples where one or the other gets killed in its extremes!! Well personally I am very lucky. My neighbours on all sides are exceptionally tolerant and mannered. Possibly it is down to my own good behaviour and skill of neighbour relationship. 10 years of my life has passed without an incident. However, the finer legal points are any one's guess less we run into trouble with neighbours!! Please kindly keep your neighbours happy!! |

| Jamuna | Dear Mr. Belbasie . Thank you for sending me , the do and don't around your neighbourhood. When I first came to Uk I could not understand all the points you have mentioned in your e-mail. One Sunday afternoon my children's decided to pick the daffodils from the park, I had one of my neighbours tell me and the children off . Then on n e occasion I put the clothes liner on my neighbours side of the fence not knowing who the fence belonged. My door bell went and I was asked to remove it immediately . Then one year we three neighbours decided to pave the front. So before it get paved my next door neighbour decided to claim half of front garden and she would put big rocks from stopping me from reversing my car. Then the big day came to pave and we had to go and get the deed. John, got the deed and I was told by my husband that the front garden belongs to us. So my next door neighbour removed all the rocks and plants. Neighbours can be nice, neighbours can be from hell. We have be living in this neighbourhood for 32 years and I have no problem at all.
